Teamleader Focus API: connect Teamleader to your accounts, website and planning

I connect Teamleader Focus through the Teamleader API, with OAuth 2.0 for access and webhooks for events. n8n has no built-in Teamleader node; there are community nodes, but I connect through the official API in n8n, in your own EU environment.

What you can do with the Teamleader Focus API

  • Website forms as a lead or contact in Teamleader, with the right source
  • Turn won deals into an invoice or project
  • Invoices from Teamleader to your accounts
  • Keep contacts and companies in sync with your mailing list or other systems
  • Follow-up tasks for quotes that are left waiting

How the integration works

The integration signs in through OAuth 2.0 with an integration registered in the Teamleader Marketplace. Teamleader issues short access tokens and a refresh token that can be used once; the integration always stores the new one. Events arrive through webhooks the integration registers with Teamleader; the rest is checked at fixed intervals. Teamleader limits calls per minute, so the integration works in batches.

Facts about the Teamleader Focus API

Checked on 2 November 2026 against the official documentation. Limits, prices and versions change; the source is listed per row.

What you need on your side

  • A Teamleader administrator who can register or approve an integration
  • A fixed source value per form or channel, so every lead stays traceable
  • Agreements on how a deal becomes an invoice: lines, VAT and payment term
  • Access to the accounting package or mailing list on the other side

Where it often goes wrong, and how I prevent it

  • Lost refresh token: a refresh token works once. If you do not store the new one, the integration is logged out. The integration always stores the new token immediately.
  • Minute limit: Teamleader counts calls in a sliding one-minute window and returns a 429 above it. The integration reads the headers and waits.
  • Duplicate contacts: the integration searches by email address first before it creates a contact.
  • Deal to invoice: which lines, VAT and payment term an invoice gets, I agree up front; a deal does not always have those.

In practice

A Teamleader integration is not yet listed as In production with me. The approach is the same as for Zoho CRM and HubSpot: one source for origin and owner, a fixed key per contact, and a notification when a lead arrives nowhere.

What it costs

I build a Teamleader Focus integration as one scoped process for a fixed price, from €750. Maintenance and monitoring are a monthly fee: n8n management from €250 per month, server management €145 per server. In the free assessment we work out your process. All prices and what is included →

What I do not do

  • I do not configure Teamleader itself (pipelines, templates, roles); I connect to it.
  • I store refresh tokens only in n8n's secure storage, never in a workflow or log file.
  • I do not quote limits or costs that Teamleader does not publish.

Frequently asked questions about the Teamleader Focus API

Does n8n have a Teamleader node?

Not built in. There are community nodes on npm (the latest from October 2026), but I connect through the official API with an HTTP step in n8n, so the integration stays readable and yours.

How many calls per minute does Teamleader allow?

Teamleader works with a sliding one-minute window; the documentation mentions 200 per minute as an example. Above that Teamleader returns a 429 and the headers say when it is possible again.

How does access to the Teamleader API work?

Through OAuth 2.0 with an integration registered with Teamleader. Access tokens are short-lived; the refresh token can be used once and always yields a new pair.

Can Teamleader notify the integration itself?

Yes, with webhooks the integration registers through the API for the events you need. What does not arrive through a webhook, the integration checks at fixed intervals.

What happens when an invoice does not arrive in the accounts?

The invoice goes to a queue and you get an error email with the invoice number and what went wrong. Temporary errors are retried automatically.
